EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK, NEPAL - 60 PHOTOS TO INSPIRE A VISIT
I was extremely lucky to get the opportunity to visit Nepal last year, as part of a charity team we set the challenge upon ourselves to trek to Everest Base Camp, all in the name of raising important funds for my local hospice. Flying into Kathmandu, we spent a few days exploring the capital city and getting adjusted to the region, before making our way over to a small town in the East called Ramechhap, where the following day where boarded a tiny plane to fly to what is dubbed as the ‘most dangerous airport in the world’
Once safely in Lukla, the journey really began, trekking to Everest Base Camp (positioned at 5364m above sea level). The trek took 7 days to climb up and 3 days to get back down, pushing many of the team to their absolute physical and emotional limits.
As you can imagine, the geography that we were walking on was absolutely incredible, living in the Lake District means that I am no stranger to a mountain or two, however Himalayas makes the largest of Cumbrian mountain look like a measly hill!
Here is a collection of my favourite photos from the trip, I really hope these inspire a trip of your own to Nepal and especially Everest Base Camp!
